Illus., 2 x 4.25 and expands to 2 x 26", accordion pleated, unpaginated. Front and back "covers" are soiled, stained and have corner creasing, interior has light soiling and spotting else good condition. Each of the eighteen (out of twenty) panels have a theatrical illustration ie. jester, clowns, dancers with no duplication. All have signs telling about various aspects of the performance. Basically, it was a participatory dinner theatre program. "The Carnival will open with a Grand Introduction March...Ladies and Gentlemen participating in the Grand Entrée, will form in line in the Promenade Room. Dances will be announced by Bugle call. Supper served by J.H. Shaffield." Philadelphian Peter E. Abel was a lithograph publisher who was one of the main organizers of "La Coterie Carnical" in Philadelphia in the late 1860s. SCARCE.
