LONG AUTOGRAPH LETTER FROM MARSHALL, MICHIGAN JUST AFTER MICHIGAN'S STATEHOOD ADOPTED

Thee pages (on one folded sheet), 12.5 x 7.75", some staining, wear, tears at folds, couple of holes in last page due to wax seal on integral address leaf (with "Marshall, Mich." postmark). Letter from L.L. Parsons to his mother, discussing city lot prices, the Presbyterian Church to be built, etc. Parson's letter was dated February 6, 1837, and Michigan became a state on January 26, 1837. Parsons had even underlined "State" at the top of the letter.
