Choice and ornate vellum patent document, granted to William Robert Lake by the Queen for his "Improvements in teeth for machines for picking or separating cotton wool and other fibres." Elephant folio size bearing magnificent hanging wax seal (depicting Victoria on both sides) (chipped), 6.5" diameter, contained in original round tin holder. The whole is contained in original leather covered box (chipped & scuffed) with printed collateral documentation (torn). Fine, fancy example.
