Items are attached to old chipped and torn album pages, light wear, occasional toning and creased corners else very good condition. The material covers both Coffee Dan's and Coffee Dan's Old Madrid. Included are business cards, a blank check, menus, menu folders (no menus), postcard, advertising flyers, newspaper clippings and so on. A few miscellaneous items ie. a luggage label for the Grand Hotel du Louvre, postcard of NY's Longacre House. In a clipping dated July 30, 1946, is an announcement for the retirement of the owner and manager of the Detroit Coffee Dan's Mrs. Florence Schimmel. It was reported that she was going home to San Francisco after 28 years of restaurant ownership. She arrived in Detroit in 1918 and opened the area's first Coffee Dan's with former San Francisco business rival Kendal Morgan. Over two dozen items total.
