American Art Agency: North Hollywood [Monaco], 1968. Item #99-7521
Illus., 11 x 8.5", pict stapled wraps, 77pp. Covers are creased and worn, spine starting to split. The usual type of sexual stories and pictorials of naked women. However, there is one article of historical interest "Monaco's Hush-Hush Scandal". It is about Alice Heine, the young widow of the Duc de Richelieu who eventually married the divorced Prince Albert of Monaco after "cavorting" with him for an extended period. They were able to marry only after the death of his father and thus became the reigning prince. Much "cavorting" was done outside the marriage, so much that Queen Victoria blamed her (among others) for the Prince of Wales' dissipated lifestyle. Very tame goings-on for the 21st century. A fascinating look at the woman who scandalized the royal family of Monaco. She is the step-great grandmother of the current ruler.
