Illus., oblong 5 x 6", blindstamped decorative green boards, fold-out illustrations. Corners and extremities rubbed/worn, spine worn/peeling/splitting, contents have light soiling, small margin tears at folds else very good condition. Some of the views: City Hall, Campus Martius, Hudson Building, Police Headquarters, Home For The Friendless, St. Anne's, Woodward Ave. residences, Belle Isle, Detroit Exposition Building. The album was most likely given away during the Detroit International Exposition in 1891. Front pastedown has the image of "H.S. Pingree, Mayor Of Detroit 1890 & 1891." Image is surrounded by an advertisement for Pingree & Smith "Manufacturers Of Reliable Footwear." Hazen S. Pingree was one of Detroit's most popular mayors. Attractive views. SCARCE.
