9.25 x 6", cloth, 606pp with index, covers worn and soiled, extremities bumped and fraying, spine sunned, hinges loose, inner hinges cracking, ink signature of former owner on front blank, pp toned and a bit used with some foredge soiling. Included is a short, one page note to "Father" from "Harry" dated June 6, 74, asking for money, and relating a story where he met a Mrs. Angell (?) at Judge Cooley's (Thomas, once Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court). Was the Campbell's son (since Campbell himself was a long-serving member of the Michigan Supreme Court). Also, a two-page autograph letter signed from a trustee of the Grosvenor Library in Buffalo thanking Campbell for the gift of his book; in original envelope address to Hon. J.V. Campbell. Interesting collection of material.
