[Locofoco] 25 x 17.5", unpaginated, (4pp). Light creasing and soiling, scattered spotting, folded in half, edge tears, chipping else very good condition. Ads: "Negroes wanted. Notice to all persons having Negro property for sale can find a purchaser, at highest cash prices, by calling at the jail, in Louisville, or on the subscriber, at Galt House" and illustrated with the images of a male and female slave, "Wanted, A stout healthy, NEGRO BOY, about 14 years old to do housework. One from the country would be preferred" and illustrated with the same male image as the previous ad. Some of the articles: rebellion in Aux Cayes, St. Domingo (Haiti), Locofoco Party (a radical wing of the Democratic Party), a visit to New Mexico which provided "valuable information in relation to the affairs, trade, and traders of that country". Other ads: Negro Linsey and jeans, life preservers, Mississippi cotton, fresh butter, Good Interest Stage Company, Spanish Float Indigo, plantation molasses, artificial legs, wig making, Buck's Cooking Stove, the last three ads with illustrations.
