[Locofoco] 25 x 17.5", unpaginated, (4pp). Light creasing and soiling, scattered spotting, folded in half, edge tears, chipping else very good condition. Ads: "Negroes wanted. Notice to all persons having Negro property for sale can find a purchaser, at highest cash prices, by calling at the jail, in Louisville, or on the subscriber, at Galt House" and illustrated with the images of a male and female slave, "Wanted, A stout healthy, NEGRO BOY, about 14 years old to do housework. One from the country would be preferred" and illustrated with the same male image as the previous ad. Some of the articles: In the Senate of the Kentucky legislature a bill was taken up to "amend the law of '33, prohibiting the importation of slaves for merchandize...requiring the person who introduces the slave to make oath that he will not sell such slave for a longer time than one year during the term of five years...", "Public Lecture on Opium", "Boat Building in Louisville", Locofoco Party (a radical wing of the Democratic Party). Other ads: Mississippi cotton, distillery for sale, sperm oil and candles, deer skins, Buck's Patent Cooking Stove, Good Intent Stage Company, artificial legs, wig makers, Magnesia Fire Proof Safes. The last four ads have illustrations.
