Notice to all persons having Negro property for sale can find a purchaser, at highest cash prices, by calling at the jail, in Louisville, or on the subscriber, at Galt House" and illustrated with the images of a male and female slave, "Wanted, A stout healthy, NEGRO BOY, about 14 years old to do housework. One from the country would be preferred" and illustrated with the same male image as the previous ad. Lengthy four column announcement on the front page "Collector's Sale For City Taxes of 1843", names from Aikin to Wolf and lists the location of all the property lots. Articles include the Locofoco Party (a radical wing of the Democratic Party), tobacco inspection laws. Other ads: "Again, I offer my haphazard tract of land for sale, one and a half miles above Owensboro...As my object in selling is to raise manufacturing capital...cash will be required", Alabama cotton, Landreth's Garden Seed, Irish Glue, hydraulic cement, distillery for sale, "Drugs, Medicine etc.", life preservers, "Negro Linsey and Jeans", artificial legs, wig maker, last two ads with illustrations.
