Cabinet Card "Gen. Grant at Mt. McGregor"

Mt. McGregor (New York), (1885). Item #99-4432

Gilman, photo oblong 4.25 x 6.5". Bumped corners, very light stain on lower image and mount, light creasing on right margin of mount affecting image a little, light scratching. Reverse is soiled, spotted, scratched/scraped else good condition. Printed on the photograph is a note "Copyrighted July 22 '85". Image shows General Grant sitting on a chair on the porch reading a newspaper at his home on Mt. McGregor in Saratoga County, New York. He died there on July 23, 1885. This was the last photograph taken of him before he died.
