Color illus. by Kate Greenaway, 4 x 3.25", handpainted stiff wraps with serrated edges and silk tie; aeg, unpaginated (36pp), covers a little worn, some toning beneath silk tie, but a beautifully preserved copy of this rare binding (Schuster and Engen 13C). FIRST EDITION. The front cover has a handpainted image of red flowers (primrose?) blooming on a stem. The illustrations for this almanack first appeared in William Mavor's "The English Spelling Book" in 1885. Except for the covers and endpapers book matches the points for a first edition per Layard and Spielmann and Schuster and Engen.
