Two early reprints of photographs by Juneau, Alaska photographers Winter and Pond: Louvre Bar and Gambling Hall, Joe Juneau

Copyright by Winter & Pond. 8 x 9.5", black and white. Creasing, removal marks else good to very good. Both are stamped on the back Winter & Pond. Pencil notes on the backs "Louvre Bar and Gambling Hall" on one and on Joe Juneau "1899". The bar is filled, for the most. Well-dressed men posing for the camera and playing cards. Alaska State Library-Historical Collection has this photograph in their collection, theirs has this note (ours doesn't) "Jack London frequently visited Juneau's first dance and gambling hall", dated 1894. Joe Juneau, 1833(36)-1899 was a French-Canadian miner and prospector and co-founder of the city of Juneau. Even though these images are early reprints they are still SCARCE and desirable. Sold as a pair only.
