Twenty-seven hand-colored fashion plates, eight engravings, 6.5 x 4", 1/2 leather, spine gilt-ruled with gilt lettering and black spine label, 1-438, 139-204. Covers well worn, rubbed, leather peeling, outer/inner hinges cracked, lacks frontis and title page, toning, foxing, light soiling, a few edge tears, extra pages bound in at the back, 139-204 not duplicate and a couple of pages and an engraving are waterstained, 25 of 27 called for fashion plates plus two non-duplicate plates bound in at the front for a grand total of 27 plates, contents tight and good. Some of the contents: "The Bells of Aberfane: A Ghost Story", "The African Woman" (a poem), "The Progress of Dramatic Literature. Hindu Theatre", "Recollections of a Bachelor, Written by Himself", and much more.
