6 parts. 12 illus. plus engraved title and portrait of Dickens in Part VI, 8.5 x 5.5", printed blue-green wraps, 190pp + notes + contents + ads, covers a bit used and darkened (esp. part 1), tissue guard between illus. missing from part 1, pp toned with some edge-wear and scattered finger soiling else a nice set; in three-piece leather-backed cloth case (a bit worn and darkened but still good). FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL PARTS (with 8pp Chapman & Hall ad in Part II (loose)), cork had ad in part V, and "Price Eighteenpence" pasted over price on front cover of Part IV. Nice set.
