8 x 10, b&w, director's name w/ series of numbers and a letter "Sloane4-K11" in lower right corner. Creased, tears, missing a tiny piece out of top margin, missing lower left corner and small piece out of bottom margin. The movie "Hearts in Dixie" was an African American musical starring Stepin Fetchit as a husband and father of a son and daughter. His wife and daughter die and he sends his son North to get an education. The two children shown in the still are most likely the son and daughter who were portrayed by Eugene Jackson and Mildred Washington. Eugene Jackson was a child actor who appeared in the Our Gang series and continued acting into adulthood. Mildred Washington only made 12 films before she died of appendicitis in 1933. Sold as is.
