Thirteen hand-colored plates by Mlle. Prudhomme, 5 x 3.5, full olive-green leather, hightly gilt decorated covers, spine and edges, raised bands, gilt spine lettering, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers, 192 pp. Covers rubbed, sunned, warped, corners well worn/bumped, light wear to spine tips, foredge rubbed, front pastedown torn/unglued and leather strip unglued, front blank page detached, text block cracked, some loose signatures, scattered spotting, staining/soiling, lightly wavy pages, lacks pages 107-108, offetting from a silk page marker, a few small tears, six plates lack tissue guards. Book has seen better days but that doesn't take away from how well the plates are drawn, the colors still bright and sharp. Not long after this book was published, Mlle. Prudhomme illustrated another book published by Didot Le Jeune "Le Jardin Des Fleurs." Both books illustrated by her are very scarce. Sold as is.
