Oblong 11 x 8.25, brown. Separated along fold creases so certificate isin six pieces, chipping, missing several small pieces. L.N. Jackson bought the shares on November 15, 1918, this certificate being #595 and signed by both the secretary and president. Embossed paper seal indicates that the company was incorporated on April 13, 1919. Piedmont Motors built cars between 1917 and 1922, they manufactured vehicles using parts made by other manufacturers and designed by outside designers. Some of the names the cars were sold under: Lone Star, Bush, Alsace. They were not able to make it through the economic difficulties of the 1920s making cars that were three times more expensive than Ford or Chevrolet. With a warehouse full of car parts they declared bankruptcy on October, 1922. Sold as is -- no returns. Scarce.
