21 x 23 map, hand colored, showing North and South America, with California as a peninsula but without the "cum privlegio" in the lower cartouche, folds, soiling, edge wear, ink number "5" at top, formerly cello-taped at vertical center fold on reverse but tape browning,has seeped through and badly browned the lower center fold, with newer cello tape on reverse, torn at center fold 6" from bottom margin, but still a fascinating map with northern Pacific coast marked "Terra Esonis Incognita," Lake Michigan called "Lac Illinois" and nothing noted west of the Rockies.
