20 full page plates + engraved title, 10 x 7, later gilt ruled straight grained green moroccol; aeg, vp, covers a bit worn and darkened and spotted, extremities bumped and fraying, spine sunned to brown and abraded, newer eps and prelims, title page reinforced, other minior marginal repairs, some light staining to text but overall a spectacularly bright and clean copy of this the first illustrated edition of Tasso's masterpiece. WITH FULL PAGE PRESENTATION INSCRIPTION: "To Il Fenacolo in memory of our beloved member, Armando Pedrini, with admiration and reverance for his character and achievements" SIGNED BY SAN FRANCISCO BOOK AND ART COLLECTOR ALBERT M. BENDER, who dates the inscription January 25, 1940.
