Colorful woodblock prints, 6 x 4, wraps, pict covers, crepe paper w/ silk cords, unpag (16 incl covers). Light creasing, tiny dents, covers have light soiling, rear cover has spotting else good/very good. Inside the front covr and on the opposite page is a cheerful scene entitled "Merry Street-Scenes on New Year's Day," the following pages each have a monthly calendar illustrated with charming pictures of children along with a title: January "Girls Playing Ball on New Year's Day;" Feb: "Drum Beating at the Festival of Inari, the God of Rice;" March: "Schoolboy's Excursion at the Vernal Equinox;: April "Gathering Shell-Fish at Egg-Tide;" May: "While the Parents are Busy with Planting Rice;" June: "Fireworks on the Sumida River;" July: "A Siesta in a Gentle Breeze;" Aug: "Lanterns in the Moon-Light;" Sept: "Autumn Flowers"; Oct: "Persimmons in Grandfather's Garden;" Nov: "Catching Birds with Traps" and Dec: "Snow Images." A beautiful book. Scarce.
