8 x 1.75 cream silk with red, green, blue and yellow colors woven in. Missing small piece on upper right side (edge uneven with a tiny brown stain), lacks tassel, a few very faint spots else very good. Colors are bright and sharp. Description: "Centennial 1776-1876 Philadelphia U.S.A." below that is s portrait of George Washington with two crossed American flags under his image, then "George Washington with two crossed American flags under his image, then "George Washington" and below that is the Liberty Bell and below that "And the star spangled banner !long may it wave, o'er the land of The Free and the home of The Brave," just under that is an eagle clasping arrows bearing a shield the color of the U.S. flag. On the turned-over bottom is woven "T.Stevens. Coventry. England." Stevengraph was the name given to a type of woven silk pictures, bookmarks, labels, postcards, etc., produced by Thomas Stevens of Coventry, England, in the late 19th century. Sold as is.
