24 numbered photogravures with tissue guards, 12.5 x 12, cream boards with gray lettering and spine, unpag. Covers soiled, rubbed, small glue (?) remnant on front cover, light extremity wear, boards slightly warped, one tissue guard slightly chipped, another has a small tear and another is creased, text block cracking else contents very good. Leonard Misonne, 1870-1943, a Belgian photographer who was considered one of the premier pictorialist photographers. He was concerned with how the ambient qualities were able to transform the environment. His depiction of atmospheric landscapes and street scenes are evocative of the Barbizon School of Painting. He exhibited in his native Belgium as well as France, Holland, the United States and England, and he is exhibited in many well-known institutions. Misonne's work is still highly sought after.
