np, nd (1910s?). Item #98-1890
Oblong 2.75 x 5, b&w, informal snapshot. Light creasing, pinhole, ink note on reverse else good. Note reads: " 'Max Till' owned by 'Gus' Sherman. Didn't come in on the money at all -- 'Gus' was badly disappointed -- thought he had first place cinched." Photo shows a packed grandstand on a hot summer day (judging by the number of ladies using parasols), along side of it some people are standing inside their cars and "Max Till" and his driver almost arriving at the unidentified grand stand. Nice early photo of harness racing.
