72 b&w photos, various sizes from 9 x 6 to 19 x 14, mostly vg, the largest one with damaged corner (drymounted with chipping to mount's margins too), some with yellowing to reverse, only 16 of which were used in the book, others related, including several portraits (never published?) of John XXIII, and one of the last photos of Detroit's Cardinal Mooney (who died at the conclave), 12 photos with Spina ink stamp on reverse, many with handwritten identification on reverse, 3 with handwritten copyright note and Spina signature on reverse, one with October 1958 date stamp on reverse. Also included is one John XXIII photo poster 20 x 12, folded, another famous Spina photo (golfer), a typed draft of the book's Bibliography, a typed letter from Dawson Taylor, who wrote the text of the book, a TLS from Spina to Taylor regarding the Foreword to the book, and a draft of a letter (from Taylor?) to a Father Elio Gambari regarding help with captions in the book. Also a color 6.5 x 9 oblong photo portrait of John XXIII with a Bishop and Tony Spina, drymounted to a 10 x 12 card.
