Illustr, 11 x 9, pict boards, unpag. Covers very well worn, rubbed, soiled, spotted, corners and spine tips bumped and worn, extremities very well worn, sticker on front cover, inner hinges cracked and covers loose, soiling, smudging, offsetting and ink inscriptions on title page, red pencil marks on one of the text illustr. Ink inscription reads "Mary Emma Warne from Mrs. James Pittman Christmas 1901." The offsetting is from a black bordered card with printed name of Mrs. James E. Pittman, Russell House and with these notes "With a Happy Christmas from . . . " and "Please put the other card with Mary Emma's Book which I have just sent by mail." Mrs. Pittman was the widow of the former superintendent of police for Detroit and also the successful co-owner of a Detroit coal company.
