Illustr, 9.25 x 6.75, blind stamped and gilt decorated cloth, 108 pp. Covers worn, faded, soiled, shelfworn, corners and spine tips bumped and worn, bookplate, front inner hinge cracked, soiling, smudging. Recent photos of Will Carleton historic sites, related newspaper clipping. Included is a small piece of stone, with a typed note "220 Walcott Avenue, at Hillsdale, Michigan is the site of the cobblestone "Old Poor House" made well-known by Will Carleton." The note goes on to say that it was chipped off the house's foundation by the book's owner. WITH A TIPPED-IN SIGNATURE OF WILL CARLETON AND DATED OCTOBER 19, 1885.
