19 x 17, upper vignette of a steam locomotive, lower vignette the state seal of Michigan. Cancelled, fold creases w/ tiny holes, chipping / tiny tears else very good. Signed by J. (James) F. Joy, president of the Michigan Central Railroad Company, Henry P. Baldwin, president of the Jackson, Lansing and Saginaw Railroad Company and Hampton Rich, president of the Ionia and Lansing Railroad Copany and A.F. Bell, secretary for the Ionia and Lansing Railroad Company. In 1846, James F. Joy was instrumental in organizing the Michigan Central Railroad Company and was its president, director and attorney for many years. Joy was successful in building several other railroad companies.
