WITH 39 MOSTLY FOLDING PLATES, 8.5 x 5.5, full leather, 43 pp + plates, covers very poor: covers detached, spine badly burned, covers hardly recognizable as leather, bookplate and ink inscriptions (from the Hendrie family of Detroit -- famous family of rich railroad tycoons, connected with the Sibley, Ledyard and Cass families), contents toned, spotted, plates badly folded, some staining, tearing at folds, on with part detached (but present). SWAF. Plates illustrate Air, Optics, Mechanics, Hydrostatics, Astronomy and Electricity. Sad condition, but nicely done plates. FIRST ED.
