Opening day was Labor Day, Sept 6th on 168 acres with flyovers by "famous aviators," concert by the Ford Motor Company Band, opening remarks by Henry Ford of Detroit, vaudeville and circus programs, Pain's pyrotechnic display and much more. Some of the featured events were the Detroit Mounted Police, horse racing, auto racing, autos racing planes, livestock contests, concerts, playoff game bewteen the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Indians, etc. Some of the exhibitors were Buick, Dodge, Ford Motor, J.L. Hudson, Michigan State Prison, Grinnell Bros. Nice ads by Chalmers, Detroit Creamery, B. Siegel, Wayne Hotel, Fascinating and fun. Scarce.
