Account Book Belonging to Walter B. Cole.

7.5 x 4.75, leather, pages lined and have letter tabs, unpag. Front cover and 1st two pages detached, covers well worn, soiled, stained, leather peeling and missing a piece on spine, soiling and smudging to contents, loose pages. Walter B. Cole wrote his name on the front and back covers, on back cover he wrote Walter B. Cole & Co. In the 1880s he was a shirtmaker located at 69 W. Congress. Book lists names and addresses of his customers and companies he bought supplies from, not all pages are filled in. Nobody famous or well known, most of the addresses are from the area just west of downtown, near the present day Tiger Stadium. Trumbull, Magnolia, Wabash, Grand River, Porter, Sycamore and Butternut are some of the streets listed.
