Ex lib, minimal markings, bookplate, covers well worn, rubbed, soiled, corners bumped and worn, front cover detached, spine covering chipped, missing tip of spine & area near upper spine, text block split in two, scattered foxing, some soiling. Bookplate states that "This Book belongs to The Bronson Howard Collection for American Dramatists 1842-1908. Bequeathed to the American Dramatists' Club" and shows a photo of Howard. The full page engravings (with the exception of the frontis) are by I.R. Cruikshank.
