Butler County, AL Dec 6, 1831. 4pp, 7.75 x 12.5", vg, lengthly legal document wherein complainant disputes worth of slave named Jim "who was a runaway" given in security for $4000 note, his labor to be used as interest. After the person to whom he was given as security dies, the executor now claims the slave is worh $600. nicely penned and very interesting.
