Danforth Mills Co.: NY & Chicago, Fall-Winter 1918-1919. 40 "cardboard" pages, 16 of which feature mens clothing in color. 21.5x16.5", covers rubbed, worn, soiled and slightly mildewed, front cover warped, lower spine edge torn, corners and extremities fraying, text block loose, pages (maily margin area) soiled, spotted and slightly mildewed. Some pages are seperating. Pastedowns have tears. Book was used as a scrapbook contemporary to the time period of the catalog. Nine pages have pasted-down items, some on the pages of fabric samples (all fabric samples have been removed). There was an illustration on the front pastedown which has been roughly remove. Some of the items are: December 1919 calendar, Grand Rapids (MI), Christmas and Easter postcards, illustrations by C.H. Twelvetrees, John R. Neill and pages of Dolly Dingle. There are 31 vaious mens clothing styles on 16 pages, all nicely illustrated and quite attractive using women as accessories. "The Crack-A-Jack Brand Service is Exclusively a service in made-to-measure clothes………. We have posted a standing forfeiture of $50,000.00 in cash to any man who can prove that Crack-A-Jack Brand Guaranteed Talored Garments are not tailored to each individual order." A wonderful item, the fashions are large and fabulous, the scrapbooking of it done with desirable scraps.
