D.D. Spellman: (Detroit) 1905. Approx 12x9", image framed and glazed to 18x25", matte finish, sepia tone photo of Hopkin (misidentified on india ink caption at bottom as "Hopkins") in his studio. Hopkin was a prolific, celebrated painter of landscaped and seascapes and his pictures still turn up in old deatroit-area house sales some 100 years after his death. This unusual photo (for its size) was reproduced in the 1987 Muskegon Museum of Art/Detroit Historical Museum catalog ARTISTS OF MICHIGAN. A truly unique item.
