LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD MARIONETTE.

10" tall, made by Tasha when her children were very young. Hand painted paper mache` head, jointed wooden arms and legs with painted stockings and boots, hand sewn floral print dress and red cape. The Tudor family enjoyed staging marionette shows for their friends and even performed for schools, libaries and museums. This marionette is one of her early ones and was exhibited at the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Center in 1996. Used in performances, it has some wear but overall very good. Included is a colr photograph taken at the exhibition and the 7x8" stiff board plaque describing the display: "Tasha began making marionettes when her children were young. She created the characters for fairy tales like "Little Red Riding Hood and the Bremen Town Musicians. The family gave presentations for their friends and became so adept that they presented paid performances at libraries, schools and museums."
