INSCRIBED "Cordially" & SIGNED (in pencil) BY SINCLAIR LEWIS, who appeared in this production with his girlfriend Marcella Powers, and Barbara Bel Geddes. Signature is not typical, condensed to about 1.5" wide (instead of his usual wide signature). Lewis had just written his novel of the theatre, "Bethel Merriday", and was touring that summer (1940) doing small productions.
