Front cover of clamshell case is separating from the edge a bit at the bottom right corner, inside edge of case has a small brown splash stain (not visible unless case is open), plate 18 has some very minor brown staining (not affecting artwork), case a bit worn and rubbed, book has some minor finger soiling on covers else all in great shape with 26/26 called-for lithographs. Thompson explains in the introduction of the booklet that “…Spruance makes no attempt, here, to ‘illustrate’ Melville’s famous epic. Instead, he chooses to ‘interpret’ a selected sequence of images and actions which, as it happens, are of central importance to Melville’s narrative”. Lithographs are bold, bright and striking, would look handsome framed. Extra postage required for shipping.
