The editor was anonymous but it is believed that John Greenleaf Whittier was the editor, he was also a contributor for "The World's Convention". Some of the contents: "The Dying Slave" (in German); "The Slaveholder's Address To The North Star"; "The Morning Star" by former president John Quincy Adams, the year after publication of this book he succesfully defended the Amistad captives.
