LAMINATED TYPED LETTER SIGNED BY GEORGE WASHINGTON CARVER, August 18, 1936

Tuskegee Normal and Industrial Institute: Tuskegee, AL, 1936. Paperback. Very Good. Item #22-4848

One sheet of Tuskegee letterhead, 11 x 8.5", folds, some spotting and toning; unfortunately laminated between two sheets of plastic. Carver writes to his former assistant, Austin W. Curtis, Jr. in New York; a nice, chatty letter about how he misses Curtis, and sends greetings to Curtis' wife; Carver adds two typed postscripts about "beating" someone named Hooker (Curtis' replacement?) and adds a manuscript note at the end saying "Dr. Baker has decided to test out the peanut oil therapy". SIGNED BY G.W. CARVER.
