X-Ray images, size varies from 11 x 7" (wraps) up to 12 x 9" (hardcover), pagination varies. Condition: the unbound issues have toning, chipping, tears, loose pages and some lack one or both covers, overall good. Of the bound issues, one is disbound with a cracked textblock, a couple others have detached covers, overall good to very good condition. This journal first started up in 1896 under the title "Articles Of Clinical Skiagraphy". The name was changed to the "Archives Of The Roentgen Ray" in 1897, its first issue under the new name was July 1897. That issue is part of this collection. There are stunning early images of animals, a variety of body parts including a "hat pin" in the abdomen, "needles" in the knee. Ink inscription in a couple of the bound volumes "To The American Roentgen Society From The Lots Of A. Howard Pirie, M.D." Dr. Pirie was one of the prominent Canadian pioneers in radiology and a well-regarded author. His articles included "The Electrolytic Method Of Measuring X-Rays" and "The Disappearance Of Enlarged Glands In Lymphadenoma Under Treatment By X-Rays". Over 100 issues including duplicates. SWAF.
