Foredge painting, 8 x 5", full red leather, covers have gilt floral borders with a smaller decorative trim, gilt dec edges and dentelles, raised bands are gilt trimmed with a decorative pattern in each panel, aeg, marbled endpapers, unpaginated. Covers very well worn, rubbed and scuffed, front cover detached, rear cover lacks two sections of leather (approximately .25" and 1.75"), spine darkened, very well worn/scuffed/scraped, missing part of the lower spine tip, scattered foxing. Binding tight. The foredge is rubbed and the painting is visible. ATTRACTIVE FOREDGE PAINTING, NOTE INSIDE INDICATES ST. JOHN'S COLLEGE CAMBRIDGE BUT IMAGE SHOWS PEOPLE WALKING NEAR A BRIDGE, BRIDGE AND NEARBY BUILDINGS RESEMBLE THOSE THAT ARE PART OF CLARE COLLEGE, CAMBRIDGE.
