Sample: 1906-first dirigible constructed; 1915- first aeronautics debuts at the Univ. of Michigan; 1917- Selfridge Field opens; 1921- Aeromarine Flying boat delivers a Ford auto from Detroit to Cleveland; 1928- Lindbergh flies Ford flivver plane. Robert S. Ball was a reporter and editor for the Detroit Free Press who wrote informative articles on space and aviation. The collection of his papers are housed in the Wright State University Library in Dayton, Ohio.
