CHOPPED UP N****RS, Puzzles To Put Together

NY, nd (c. 1870s). Paperback. Very Good. Item #21-9092

The is a wooden box that originally came with two puzzles. Only one puzzle is present. It is missing one piece and ends are missing on two other pieces. The chromolithograph on the cover of the box depicts a dancing Cake Walk minstrel, cross dressing in a bonnet, cape, parasol, red pants and blue tailed jacket with a small minstrel perched on the mantel of a fireplace. The existing puzzle is a chromolithograph of a four-person minstrel band; singer, piano player, drummer and bass. Puzzle shows wear with chipping. The chromolithograph in bright colors on the box top shows some wear, some stains and soiling with chipping around edges. This is a very SCARCE item. The wooden box is 8.75 x 10.5" with minor chipping at edges. The bottom of the box has ads for books and cut-outs. Please note: we are selling this as a historical relic documenting America's racist past. We are not promoting the sickening disease of racism.
