180pp manuscript account book, mostly filled-in, from a Northern Michigan sawmill operation, 12.5 x 8", 1/2 cloth; marbled boards, covers heavily worn, hinges broken, edges well fingered else good. Lumber company ledger dated from 1883 through 1884, categories include "Shingles packed for the month", "Railroad Yard", "Drag-saw talley". From p130 on are the records of shipments of bottles of "Arizona Water" dated from 1904 through 1907. Foster Township was a lumbering community founded in 1878. Some of the names: Kellog, Rabidue, McDonald, Van Ausburg, Bayley, Chapin, Quackenbush.
