Covers well worn, creased, covers sewn together as is back cover tear, chipping, ink note, contents have an ink name (J.E. Banks, Lime Trees Farm, Blackthorn, Nr. Bicester, Oxon), soiling, creasing, staining, edge tears. This song/poem was written in 1869 by Frank Green and was published multiple times by various publishers over the years. Each page shows young African American boys whose numbers decrease page by page, starting with ten and ending with one, below each illus. are bars of music with text in the middle. The publishing date was chosen due to Scribner, Welford & Armstrong only using that name between 1872-1878. Very SCARCE. COMES WITH: Homemade scrapbook with colorful die-cut images with the text of "The Ten Little Niggers". 11.5 x 9", six unpaginated stiff boards, removed, no covers, no name of the company who made the die-cuts, toning, soiling, spotting, chipping. Each board has two illus. each, different illus. from the above book, text below each image. Margins have various smaller die-cuts ie. flowers, birds, frogs, letters. Colors bright and sharp in both the book and scrapbook. Sold as a pair, SWAF.
