9 x 6", blind stamped cloth, 218pp, ink name & place on title, extremities frayed, horizontal slice in spine, else a nice copy. Ink name/date of "Warner Wing Monroe Michigan". Warner Wing, 1805-1876, an Ohio transplant, moved to Detroit in 1817 with his family and then to Monroe in 1828 after receiving his law degree. In 1837 (the year of statehood) he was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives and then for the next two a Michigan state senator. Wing served on the Michigan Supreme Court 1845-1856 later resigning to be the general consul for the Lakeshore and Southern Michigan Railroad, holding the position until he died.
