Fore-edge paintings, frontis, 5 x 3", full leather, gilt dentelles/inner dentelles, gilt dec spine, raised bands, aeg, 332pp. Covers worn/shelfworn, scuffed, scraped, spine darkened, gilt has light scratches, inner hinges archivally repaired, foxing to endpapers and title page, textblock tight. Stored inside a 1924 copy of "The Soul Of Samuel Pepys", patterned boards and blue spine, opens up to page 12 where a 6.5 x 4" section has been neatly removed and lined with brocade, a couple of pieces of foam along the sides to protect the fore-edge book. FORE-EDGE PAINTINGS OF WESTMINSTER ABBEY AND BRIDGE/ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL AND BLACKFRIAR BRIDGE. Beautifully detailed.
