This volume is an abridged version of Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress" which was commissioned by the Honolulu Tract Society and translated into Hawaiian in 1841 by Artemas Bishop. Unfortunately, this book failed to engage the Hawaiian people's attention leaving 10,000 copies whose unbound sheets were recycled as wrapping for produce. Very few managed to survive. Translated, the title reads "The Pilgrimage From This World To The Next..." (Or, "The Traveler From This World To Come"). SCARCE early Hawaiian printing. FIRST HAWAIIAN EDITION.
