Photogravures by W.P. Allen, 14 x 11", printed sewn light green wraps, unpaginated. Covers detached, torn with cello tape repairs, soiled, sunned and missing pieces, contents disbound and have light toning and occasional smudging else very good condition except for Part Seven which is stained and missing page corners. Charles S. Hathaway's "Story of Detroit" starts in Part One and continues through Part Fourteen. Some of photogravures: streets- Peterboro, 24th, Canfield, Grand River, Michigan, Wabash; cemeteries- Elmwood, Woodmere; churches- Most Holy Trinity, Most Holy Redeemer, St. Boniface, Trumbull Avenue Presbyterian; residences- Stroh, Palms, Captain Westcott, Brush, Voigt, Pingree; businesses- Michigan Stove Works, Banner Tobacco, D.M. Ferry, Clark's Ship Yard, Bingham, Hoop & Thin Lumber Co.; fine arts- Detroit Opera House, Whitney Opera House, Detroit Museum of Art; Belle Isle Park/Lighthouse/Bridge; scenes- birds-eye view of the City Hall, river scene with various vessels, Grand Circus Park and much, much more.
